Todd R. Morse was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. He graduated from Bishop Gorman High School, and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Gaming Management, at the University of Nevada-Reno. After spending a few years in the gaming industry both during and after college, Todd joined the longtime Las Vegas insurance agency, Cragin & Pike.
Cragin & Pike was established in 1909 and is Las Vegas’ second oldest continually operated business behind only Anderson Dairy. Cragin and Pike provides both business and personal insurance, risk management consulting, bonding, and health-benefits insurance. The agency insures a broad group of clients, with some client relationships lasting over 50 years.
This year will mark Todd’s 11th year at Cragin & Pike. Todd maintains both the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) professional insurance designations. He specializes in construction/consolidated insurance programs (wrap ups), hospitality/gaming, public entities, franchise restaurants and financial institutions.
Todd’s family is deeply rooted in Las Vegas, as he is preceded by three generations of local businessmen. His great-grandfather Harold M. Morse moved the family to Las Vegas in 1932 and opened his law office in downtown that same year. The office was located with most law offices at the time in a building located at the corner of Second Street and Fremont Street, where the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino is presently located. Harold’s son (Todd’s grandfather), William R. Morse, joined the firm in 1950 after spending time as a naval aviator in World War II. He was most known for his representation of the Estate of Howard Hughes and defending a major defendant in the MGM Grand Hotel fire case of 1980. Timothy R. Morse (Todd’s father) decided early on that law was not for him and became a real estate appraiser starting with Nevada Savings Bank, led by the deceased former Governor, Kenny Guinn. Tim went on to open his own firm of Timothy R. Morse and Associates which he still owns and operates.
Todd met his future wife, Christa Wirges, while they both attended Bishop Gorman High School. They began dating after she finished undergraduate and dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. They have been married for six years and they have two sons, William and Asher. Life away from the office revolves around the boys and their activities, but if time permits, Todd enjoys hiking at Red Rock Canyon and golfing virtually anywhere.
Giving back to the community is very important at Cragin & Pike. Todd worked as a big brother with Big Brothers and Sisters of Southern Nevada and was matched with the same “Little” Michael Allen for eight years. Michael and Todd are still in communication and remain close friends today. Todd also serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Henderson and works closely with the CSN Foundation assisting with fundraising for the Athletic Department, where his brother Marc serves as Athletic Director.
Knowing his time with Big Brothers would be coming to an end and after a short stint with the Las Vegas Rotary, Todd was looking for a new and fun organization to join. Luckily, a friend invited him to a Vaqueros membership dinner, and he has thoroughly enjoyed the organization ever since. Todd believes the Los Vaqueros Credo says it all. He enjoys the monthly dinner meetings and especially working with the golf committee each year.
